Networking: How to develop and
benefit from your network.
Presenter
Rebecca Stewart from André Filion & Associates Inc.
Summary
Networking is something we do everyday. For example,
when we are trying to find a new mechanic or a hairdresser, we ask
people we know ``Do you know somebody who…?`` A benefit of being a
member of The Help Desk Institute is that it provides you with the
opportunity to network; An opportunity to collaborate with and learn
from other members, share your experiences and knowledge, as well as
meet other people who work in the same field as yourself.
When was the last time, however, that you took
advantage of HDI meetings or a similar event to do these things?
Networking is a valuable skill for many situations; It
is identified as the #1 job search technique. Come and explore how you
can better use your network to attain your goals and help others
achieve theirs.
Through this workshop you will be engaged in
discussions and activities on:
- Understanding networking
- How to get started
- How to use your network
- Keeping your network alive
