"Help Desk Ergonomics"
Presenter
Jeff Pajot, President of PAJOT ERGONOMICS
Summary
"Ergonomics is the science of the "fit" between humans
and their environment. A bad fit in the help desk can lead to injury,
discomfort and reduced productivity. Research has shown that sedentary
seated work can lead to long-term spine dysfunction resulting in pain,
injury and lost-time from work. How to maintain a healthy low-back
posture and the "evils" of static muscle contraction will be discussed.
Using the principles of ergonomic workstation adjustments, the audience
will be able to evaluate their help desks and determine where ergonomic
improvements can be made."
