HDI Chapter kicks-off the 2007/2008 season!
Welcome to the 2007/2008 Ottawa HDI
Chapter program. We are very fortunate to start the year
with a recognized motivational speaker, Guy Cabana on
The 10 secrets of the highly effective negotiator, Lt(N)
Paul La Hay on Security and Intrusion, a possible tour
of the House of Commons Service Desk area, David Gray on
Engineering the Process Culture, and more. A full day
conference will close the year as we did last year.
Help Desk Analyst Award in December
This year the Ottawa HDI Chapter is
proud to participate in the HDI Analyst of the Year
award. This award will recognize a local analyst that
exemplifies the best qualities among support
practitioners. The winner will have demonstrated
extraordinary commitment, dedication, and service to
customers while consistently exceeding performance
objectives. We will be announcing more details and
putting out a call for nominations in the near future.

Wednesday October 17th Event – Guy
Cabana
“The 10 secrets of the highly
effective negotiator”
Mr. Guy Cabana is a world renowned
international keynote speaker, trainer, and course
developer. He is President of Danec Consultants Inc., a
company that specializes in the development of human
resources, soft skills, and personal achievement.
He has designed several courses for the
Masters Degree of Applied Sciences for the University of
Sherbrooke and he also teaches at the International
Research Center for Advanced Management (IRCAM) as well
as at les Haut Etudes Commercial (HEC) in Montreal.
He has developed training material on
the art of negotiations and non-verbal communications to
industries throughout Canada, the United States,
Switzerland, France, and England.
Mr. Cabana is a gifted speaker with a
remarkable ability and talent to attract and maintain
the attention of his audience. His approach is very
simply concrete and his humorous examples produce
immediate results both in personnel and professional
lives. He is a speaker you must meet!
